Emperor's Footprints

Description

The footprints of Emperor Chandragupta Maurya are carved on the summit of Chandragiri - one of the two hills of Shravanabelagola. Lying in the south of Karnataka, this is one of the major pilgrimage centres for India's Jain population, and the emperor came here to live out his final years as a monk.
