Out of the Ocean
Description
The marine iguana (Amblyrhynchus cristatus) is only found on the islands of Galápagos. It can dive to 30 feet in search of algae, and then returns to land in order expel excess salt through its nose, and use black skin to regain body warmth. Charles Darwin was unimpressed, calling them 'imps of darkness'.
