Beginning

The start of the day above the village of Kibber. This settlement in the Spiti Valley has a claim to being the highest permanently-occupied place on the planet, at well over 4000m. As the sun rose and the light spread, we were gathering for a 55km ultramarathon - the Gompa Run - which would start in a few minutes.
