After a morning studying texts, the young monks of Phugtal Gompa are expected to have absorbed the words - but these novices are struggling to keep up with the demands of their tutor. Perhaps they are distracted by the incredible view from the rooftop on which they sit, high above the blue Tsarab Chu, in the heart of Zanskar's mountains.
