Wood Apple Bride

'Bel bibaha' is a two-day coming-of-age ceremony for Newari girls in the Kathmandu valley. They are ritually married to the bael fruit (wood apple), a symbol of Vishnu. This fruit doesn't rot, and remains fresh forever.
